None of us tend to believe how dependent we become on things during our lives. One of the objects we get hooked on is computers. This is because computers can do so many tasks rolled into one. Back linking is the final and newest way to get ranked. If you write for other sites that are high in page rank and are based on similar topics, add links to your site in each article, if permitted. What will happen is that the Google Bot will examine the highly ranked page first, when it sees that link it will go to your site or blog. This linking of the two legitimizes your website and may lead to a jump in rankings.

Personal Computers: The Laptop is Replacing the Desktop

In the early 2000s IBM leapt out of the personal computer world just as quickly as it leapt into it in 1981. IBM left PCs behind to focus on offering its business side of computing and networking as well as offering more networking services. While you can still buy a certified used IBM, you cannot find a new IBM, unless it is a Thin Client. Did IBM know something that most PC producers were unaware of?

As the desktop PC continues to age and evolve, the machine itself is becoming obsolete, much like the latest and greatest processor you bought five minutes ago. It’s not the hardware inside the PC, it is not the monitor nor is it that archaic piece of plastic we call a mouse. It is the PC as a whole.

Lately, it seems that laptops are taking over where PCs used to thrive. They are on people’s computer stands and they are used as the family’s primary computer. Laptops were once known as the portable substitute for a desktop PC, meaning they were great if you needed to travel, but the desktop version was far better.

Laptops used to be heavy, slow and had screens that were nearly impossible to read. Currently laptops have the same, if not more options and features than desktop PCs and are portable. No longer are you tethered to your desk while working. Once satellite internet becomes a feasible replacement for broadband, laptops will become even more important.

Desktops do have a place and that place is an area that we are only required to go from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and we are paid to do it. Soon desktops will be seen only in offices and government buildings and not in households.

It’s been a long and fun ride desktop PC, but you just can’t seem to fit in my laptop bag.
