Over the years, people have seemingly increased their interest in exploring the land of cyberspace while achieving their academic goals. This may seem like a foreign concept to those of us who can recall hitting the snooze button to avoid preparing for the school day. Riding the bus was perhaps the only salvation for those of us not interested in walking to school.

Educational system updates are being made daily to ensure that students and “netucators” can offer the latest, cutting-edge experience in the tech world. Although many of us may enjoy a more old-fashioned approach for our educations, this is the computer era and it’s only going to continue further. Teachers may find it a little challenging to stay abreast of the increasing speed of technological changes, but many feel it’s worth the effort. If you’re interested in a non-traditional learning style, consider enrolling in online courses at elearners.com.

Cellular phones were a novelty item in the late 1990s. The iPhone has made an entrance into the lives of many households since then. Students and teachers can gain access to educational apps for the iPhone, including programs capable of saving classroom notes. Some applications allow users to record their own voice if they’d like to keep an idea handy for a term paper or other school-related assignment. Mind mapping makes it possible for brainstorming to be done on-the-go to keep track of your thoughts.

Some may debate the need for continued education, but one thing is certain – it can make life more interesting. See the world in a new perspective.

What Affect Does Technology Have On Classrooms?

Computer technology has brought a lot to the classroom enabling students to research, learn and interact with the world. While there is a lot of good that comes out of computer technology, there is also a bad side to computer technology schools. Mainly, because of mandated test scores and curriculum that needs to be taught for the best test scores.

At one time, teachers were able to teach their own curriculum as long as the students were learning and met certain bench marks. Everyone, had a teacher they liked. This type of teacher was the type that gave projects and hands on activities that brought the material to life for the student. It was more than just memorizing facts that would be on an important test that decided the school’s fate.

The problem is that a computer testing system can only base whether the student is learning or not based on test scores. Therefore, students going at slower pace are judged harshly, when the score that they get is actually a great achievement for them. They are left behind and forced to take preparatory course or courses to past, as is the case with many school districts that have state graduation tests.

While computers have their place in schools and they should always have their place in schools. They should be taken out of the equation when determining if a student is learning or not. Teachers should be able to be trusted to teach their students the material they need to know, instead of having a test make sure that is case. Only when we go back to the old way of teaching will we have personable and social young adults who are able to think for themselves and absorb and learn the material in a meaningful and fulfilling way.
